Knowing the technical history on each model of the Apricus range sold from Brisbane to the Sunshine Coast over the last ten years is a great tool.  We have s high level of knowledge o the Apricus system and Apricus changes, this makes it easy to repair your Apricus solar hot water system.

In the early days Apricus systems where sold by strategic partners like Solapay, Solar Guys, Total Water Solutions,  Greener Energy, Bar Plumbing, Perfect Plumbing and Ingenero here on the Sunshine Coast and Brisbane. The Systems where pieced together from Australian components and the Apricus global collector. Very early models used the Dux tank , RESOL AX controller (the black round controller) with the Grundfos 15 14 b or Salmson circulating pumps. The Apricus system is now most commonly sold by retail merchants like Reece, Tradelink ,Samious plumbing supplies.

This model was soon changed to the Aquamax glass lined tank and the Everlast stainless steel tank. The system used the Senztek Solastat 1-2 controller with the Bianco hot water circulating pump. The Bianco BIA-LRS32-6CU circulating pump was used in the system. The majority of these pump failed before the two year warranty period.  The earlier systems did work well, but they had some sensor port location problems that caused thermal shock. (Thermal shock can be limited in most cases by changing sensor positions and controller settings) Thermal shock is the load popping noise that can be heard in the solar hot water tank.

Apricus then introduced the addition of the Senztek 1-3 SolaStat controller. The new controller by Senztek had three sensors, one roof and two tank. It enabled better diagnostics of the added upper tank sensor temperature reading. At the same time the Bianco pump was replace with the Grundfos 15 20 CIL circulating pump. The pump was a boiler pump which was trialed and proved the be the best solar hot water circulating pump on the market.

Grundfos 15 20 Cil, original the pump motor was rotated from the housing so the lead faced down. This was done to stop water pooling in the three speed switch. This is a common mistake made today when they are installed as the pumps orientation has been designed for the complete pump station.

Apricus Senztek Pump Station, this would latter be replace with the RESOL DeltaSol BS - 4 (DS/4) controller.

Apricus glass lined hot water cylinders these where made in China and still used in some brands. Apricus Now used the Dux made tank. Dux also make the Thermann version of the Apricus solar hot water system.
